The Lowdown
Our Story:
We have an adorable house that we have been trying to sell in a tough market, and as of yet we have not had luck. After seeing an episode of Oprah where she interviewed with clever people who had innovative, alternative ideas to move the markets along in a tough economy, we thought, "why not try something different?"
If we could attract enough interest how fun would it be to hold a raffle-- tickets going to people who would love to own our cute little home, mortgage free.
Here is our shot in the dark, please let us hear your thoughts!
Our House:
1 1/2 storeys includes 4 bedrooms, living room, dining room, bathroom, laundry, and storage. When we moved in 2 years ago, we took our time updating the home with fresh paint and new carpets throughout, and the house has a warm and cozy feel. There is a HUGE backyard with tons of playing room and a large apple tree. There is a deck that goes along the back of the whole house, great for barbeques and enjoying warm days. We really have loved the home, we are just needing some more space to grow.
How would this work, exactly?
Tickets cost $20 and there would be only 15,000 tickets in total. The lucky grand prize winner would get the home--free and clear!! There would be additional prizes awarded--1 prize of $10,000 cash, 5 prizes of $5000 cash, and 15 prizes of $1000! The remainder of the proceeds would cover our mortgage payout, legal costs, and the cost to put a new, energy efficient furnace into the home, a project that we have been saving up to do.
Now obviously this will only work if we get the word out and the tickets sell, so first of all we are trying to get a feel for the interest by people in the area. We will be starting out by getting the word out and seeing how much interest we could attract with our idea, so please, we would LOVE to hear your thoughts and your input!
